Each classroom has their own book library.  In addition to their classroom libraries, each student at PS166 visits the PS166 Library every other week throughout the school year.  During the library time with the classroom, the children read and check out books to be returned at their next visit.  

When the library is not being used by a class as scheduled, teachers are free to bring their class to the library.  They can do a read aloud, independent reading or small group instruction. 

We are very grateful to have won a total of over $500,000 from Council Member Helen Rosenthal’s Participatory Budget grant and Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer’s Capital Funding grant for a library expansion and renovation.  The expansion and renovation is complete, and we are thrilled that students and teachers can utilize this space to foster a love of reading and learning.
